Russian IT companies have made a breakthrough on international markets, said the Prime Minister, noting that the overall Internet economy is estimated to be about 2.2 percent of GDP.
UJANG (China), 16 Dec. Overall Internet economy of the Russian Federation is 2.2% of GDP, in recent years the Russian IT-companies made a major breakthrough in this area, said Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, speaking Wednesday at a meeting of the Second world conference on Internet matters, which takes place in China wuzhen.
“Overall Internet economy in our country is estimated at 2.2% of GDP. Today Russian IT-company, the teams have made a breakthrough on international markets, they are known in this market”, — said Medvedev.
He added that he expects that the sector will continue to grow, including through electronic Commerce, services, including government services on the Internet.
The Prime Minister reminded that the number of Internet users in Russia reaches 80 million people.
