The draft amendments to article of the Criminal procedure code is intended to improve the effectiveness of safeguards against unjustified criminal proceedings against the deputies, reported devoid of the immunity of state Duma Deputy Vladimir Bessonov.

“We yesterday with a colleague Soloviev amended article of the Criminal procedure code that aimed to increase the effectiveness of safeguards against unwarranted criminal cases against deputies of the State Duma and to protect them from unfounded harassment, contributing to the unimpeded work of a parliamentarian and thus Parliament, their autonomy and independence,” said Bessonov at a meeting of the state Duma.

“The court of the Rostov region shows us her absolute partiality. Your colleague may suffer, being innocent,” he added, asking to consider the bill as quickly as possible.
