“I have a special relationship to this organization, which I think is a cancer of the entire European continent,” he said at a meeting with representatives of the national Assembly (Parliament) of Serbia.
“It would be better that this organization was dissolved,” he said.
According to Naryshkin, to dissolve NATO would be in several stages. “It could be done in several stages. First of all, get rid of organization United States of America. After that it would be painless to disband the organization as a whole”, – said the speaker.
“It would be a good step towards improving security and stability in the entire European continent,” he said.

“In the meantime, of course, we are very concerned about the expansion of NATO to the East, the approach of NATO infrastructure toward our territory, our borders”, – continued the Chairman of the lower house of the Russian Parliament. “With regard to (possible accession to NATO) Montenegro, we are well aware of the attitude of a large part, maybe even a larger part of Montenegro to this possible step and great resistance of the people of Montenegro,” he confirmed. Naryshkin recalled that just recently, on November 20, the state Duma adopted an open address to the Assembly of Montenegro, the parliaments of States – members of NATO and to the OSCE PA to desist from doing so. Recalling the close relationship between the peoples of Serbia and Montenegro, the speaker expressed the hope that Serbian parliamentarians “will not remain aloof from this process.”
