MOSCOW, December 17. The foreign Ministers of Russia and the USA Sergey Lavrov and John Kerry confirmed Thursday during a telephone conversation the need to respect the principle of consensus in the International support group for Syria (MGPS) on the eve of its next meeting on 18 December. This was reported in the Russian foreign Ministry.
“In the development of the recent visit of the head of the American foreign Ministry in Moscow, the parties continued the discussion of the settlement of the Syrian conflict, including a plan to hold on December 18 in new York, new session MGPS, – informed the Russian dipvedomstva. – Reaffirmed the need to respect the principle of consensus in MHPS”.
Settling the conflict in Syria has become one of the main topics during Kerry’s visit to Russia on 15 December. Then the co-chairs MGPS Russia and the USA have confirmed the intention to hold a meeting in new York, as well as to consolidate the results of the work MGPS resolution of the UN Security Council.
