The head of administration of Nizhni Novgorod is appointed by the city Duma from among candidates presented by the competitive Commission by results of competition. The voting results will be announced on December 23.
NIZHNY NOVGOROD, 18 Dec –. The competition for filling the post of head of administration of Nizhni Novgorod will take place on Friday, with the participation of candidates admitted 13 out of 28 people who applied, according to the city Duma.
The Duma of Nizhni Novgorod on November 25 was appointed on December 18, the competition for filling the post of head of the city administration. Acceptance of documents for participation in the competition ended on 11 December, applications for participation in it was filed by 28 people. Competition Commission after checking the data of candidates dropping out of 14 people, another himself refused to participate in the contest. As previously explained, the Chairman of the competition Commission mark Feldman, the main reason for drop-out were “inconsistencies on positions of seniority and education.”
The head of administration of Nizhni Novgorod is appointed by the city Duma from among candidates presented by the competitive Commission by results of competition. The contest is held in an open and transparent manner: at the meeting of the bid evaluation Committee may present candidates, deputies Gordumy, representatives of local authorities and of state authorities, journalists, residents of the city.
The city Duma of the previous convocation in July of this year has tried to terminate the powers of the then head of city administration Oleg Kondrashov. However, he went on sick leave and was not fired. The term of office of the city Manager expired simultaneously with the city Duma, elections to which were held in September. As a result Kondrashov was dismissed in October due to the expiration of the term of the contract. Since July, the duties of the head of administration takes the first Deputy Kondrashov Andrey Chertkov.
