Russian parliamentarians are ready to receive in Moscow the delegation of the European Parliament and to discuss international issues, said the leader of “Fair Russia” Sergey Mironov. While he stressed the need to conduct dialogue on an equal footing.
MOSCOW, 18 Dec. In the state Duma are ready to intensify inter-parliamentary cooperation with Europe and hope that the dialogue will be conducted on an equitable basis, said the leader of “Fair Russia” Sergey Mironov.
Earlier it was reported that the European Parliament (EP) adopted a decision to send in early 2016 in Moscow the delegation for the resumption of inter-parliamentary contacts with the state Duma of the Russian Federation.
“European Parliament President Martin Schulz stated the need to resume parliamentary dialogue between the EU and Russia and on the European Parliament’s intention to send to Moscow in early 2016 a special delegation. “Only” a year and a half it took European politicians to understand that dialogue is the only way of coexistence and the development of relations between countries,” Mironov told journalists.
According to him, Russian parliamentarians are ready to receive in Moscow the delegation of the European Parliament and to discuss a wide range of international problems. “We hope that this dialogue will be conducted on an equal basis, will not avoid sensitive issues in bilateral relations and the situation in the world and, most importantly, will be the first step towards making important and concrete decisions”, — said the leader of the CP.
He stressed that dialogue for dialogue’s sake will not just empty words — it will be harmful, as it undermines the trust of citizens in the efforts of the parliamentarians. “The period of “freezing” of parliamentary contacts is, quite simply, lost through the fault of the EU. It’s time to catch up on. We are ready for this” — concluded Mironov.
