Earlier, Russia’s permanent representative to the IAEA Vladimir Voronkov stated that the shipment or export of enriched uranium from Iran to Russia will be held in the coming days.
MOSCOW, 19 Dec. The Iranian authorities stated that exports some nine tons of enriched uranium in the Russian Federation in the coming days, according to the IRNA news Agency with reference to the head of the Iranian atomic energy Organization, Ali Akbar Salehi.
On Wednesday, Ali Akbar Salehi reported that Iran has agreed to give Russia the nine tons of enriched uranium. Earlier, Russia’s permanent representative to the IAEA and other international organizations in Vienna Vladimir Voronkov stated that the shipment or export of enriched uranium from Iran to Russia will be held in the coming days.
“In the next few days about nine tons of Iran’s enriched uranium will be exported to Russia”, — quotes Agency Salehi.
Iran and “six” on the night of July 14, reached a historic agreement on the settlement of the longstanding problem of the Iranian atom. Lengthy negotiations culminated in the Joint comprehensive plan of action, which will completely withdraw from Iran’s previously imposed economic and financial sanctions by the UNSC, U.S. and EU in exchange for the verification of the peaceful nature of Iran’s nuclear program. Within the limitations of the Iranian nuclear program, in particular, reserves of enriched uranium in Iran should be reduced to 300 pounds, and the surplus shipped out of the country, particularly in Russia.
