So far no serious proposals on the resumption of dialogue with representatives of PACE have been reported, said a member of the state Duma Alexei Pushkov. In this version of the resume in terms of sanctions is not discussed, he said.
MOSCOW, 23 Dec. The Russian delegation to PACE will return, only if you plan to view the full and equal participation in the Assembly, said the head of the Duma Committee on international Affairs Alexei Pushkov.
At the end of January 2015 PACE because of the situation in Ukraine adopted a resolution that stripped the Russian delegation of voting rights, the right to participate in the work of the statutory bodies and in monitoring elections. In response, the Russian delegation until the end of 2015, left the Assembly.
“Has retained the relationship with PACE, established in 2014, is no. This is due to the sanctions policy, which remains in the majority in PACE. We had signals that PACE would like to resume contacts for our return,” said Pushkov at a press conference in MIA “Russia today”.
However, he said, “so far no serious proposals on the resumption of dialogue on the basis that the sanctions against the Russian delegation will be reduced or cancelled were not given to us”.
“We have offered dialogue in terms of sanctions. If sanctions will leave — we are not interested in this. We will return to PACE when there will be serious prospects for our full and equal participation in the work. If we come to the conclusion that such prospects doesn’t add up, the Russian delegation will not participate”, — he added.
Pushkov said that while no decision has been made and in the Russian Federation will continue to carefully analyze the situation.
