MOSCOW, 24 Dec. The question of inviting international observers to Russia for the Duma elections in 2016 is at an early stage of elaboration, said the head of the Central election Commission of the Russian Federation Vladimir Churov.
Earlier, EU Ambassador to Russia Vygaudas Usackas said in an interview that the EU would welcome the timely invitation of international observers at the parliamentary elections in Russia. He noted that the EU does not observe elections in the countries-members of OSCE, but actively participates in these missions under the auspices of ODIHR of the OSCE.
“The issue is in the early stages of development. It seems to me that Mr uĊĦackas strongly runs forward,” said the supervisor.
