Peskov: Putin would not interfere in the situation with the resignation of the mayor of Petrozavodsk


MOSCOW, December 25. The Russian President Vladimir Putin will not intervene in the situation with the resignation of the mayor of Petrozavodsk Galina Chisinau, which dismissed the city Council. The journalists said the press Secretary of the head of state, Dmitry Peskov.

“The President is unlikely to do it,” said he, stressing that “the city Council is authorized to take such decisions”. Thus, the representative of the Kremlin has not found in this issue “field for application of efforts by the head of state.”

Members of the city Council of Petrozavodsk was sent on Friday the mayor Galina Shirshina to resign. The decision was made 23 out of 26 people in an open vote.
