The decision to resign Galina Chisinau as the mayor of Petrozavodsk politically motivated, says MP from the Communist Boris Kashin. It worked no worse than other leaders, he said.
MOSCOW, 25 Dec. The resignation of Galina Chisinau as the mayor of Petrozavodsk has political overtones, said the Deputy from the Communist party, Boris Kashin, the state Duma representing the Republic of Karelia.
On Friday, members of the city Council dismissed the mayor of Petrozavodsk Galina Shirshina “for failure to perform their duties.” Voted “for” the” 23 deputies, against — three. Only 30 in the city Council of deputies. The Governor of Karelia supported resignation of the mayor. Shirshina, won elections of the head of Petrozavodsk in 2013 with the support of the Yabloko party, stated that it did not agree with the claims of deputies and it intends to challenge the decision in court.
“This resignation, of course, has political overtones. At a time when the other leaders of the municipality and the region, she (Shirshina – ed.) will not fall out of level. She worked as work and other leaders, because we need to understand that the opportunities they have very limited, of course, and competencies is also not very high. But I believe it is wrong in this case to add the political factor here,” said Kashin.
He noted that is not the supporter of party “the Apple”. “The very existence of this party in Karelia, anything good does not promise to residents. But in this case Shirshina worked about the same power as other leaders of the municipality, but the resignation has happened with her. Now this is a concern,” he added.
In his opinion, one can hardly say that Shirshina shied away from their duties.
