MAYOR: the price of cucumbers and tomatoes grow before the ban of imports from Turkey


The growth of prices for fruit and vegetable products has increased, prices rose 3.7 percent amid weakening of the ruble, follows from the monitoring of the Ministry of economic development.

MOSCOW, 28 Dec. The prices for fruit and vegetable products to Russia in two weeks of December rose by 3.7%, especially more expensive tomatoes and cucumbers, including as the time of the ban on imports of a number of Turkish goods to Russia, it follows from the monitoring of the Ministry of economic development.

“In December the price rise for fruit and vegetable products has increased (in two weeks the prices increased by 3.7%, while much more expensive cucumbers and tomatoes) amid weakening of the ruble, imbalances in the number of markets after the massive supply of domestic goods, including those associated with the forthcoming ban of fruit and vegetable products from Turkey as from 1 January 2016”, — stated in the monitoring.

On Friday the Federal Antimonopoly service (FAS) warned manufacturers and suppliers of food about inadmissibility “unjustified” price increases in connection with the embargo on products from Turkey.
