Russian parliamentarians are ready to develop the necessary legal mechanisms in connection with the issuance in the U.S. more than 20 orders for the detention of Russians in different countries of the world, said the Senator Andrey Klishas.
MOSCOW, 29 Dec. In the Federation Council is ready to develop the necessary legal mechanisms for the protection of Russian citizens abroad, told reporters the head of the Federation Council Committee on constitutional legislation and state construction Andrey Klishas.
The US authorities issued more than 20 orders for the detention of Russians in different countries, reported previously authorized the Russian foreign Ministry on issues of human rights, democracy and rule of law Konstantin Dolgov.
“Of particular concern to Russian authorities are the cases of violations of rights of Russian citizens. Russian foreign Ministry Commissioner for human rights, democracy and rule of law Konstantin Dolgov stated the extraterritorial application of U.S. law, leading to violation of human rights in other countries”, — said the Senator.
According to Klishas, such facts are under close attention of senators, and “if necessary, the parliamentarians prepared in coordination with the foreign Ministry to develop the necessary legal mechanisms to take adequate measures”. The Russian Federation will always act within international law, he stressed.
The Federation Council Committee on constitutional legislation and state construction encourages to follow the provisions of the Convention on the transfer of sentenced persons of 21 March 1983, an agreement between the Russian Federation and the United States of America on mutual legal assistance in criminal matters of 1999, the MP said.
