The Chinese authorities adopted the first in the history of the country’s anti-terrorism law. Moscow expects that the adoption of the law will continue to contribute to the strengthening of Russia-China counter-terrorism cooperation.
MOSCOW, 31 Dec. Moscow welcomes the adoption by the PRC authorities first in the history of the country of the law on the fight against terrorism and expects that it will contribute to further strengthening of Russia-China counter-terrorism cooperation, said in a commentary the Russian foreign Ministry.
The standing Committee of the national people’s Congress of the PRC on December 27, took first in the history of the country’s anti-terrorism law. The law provides for increased sharing of information between government authorities, military, police, as well as strengthening security in cyberspace, the security check in the transport, preventing the financing of terrorist activities and control of borders. In particular, the bill envisages creation of a counterterrorism intelligence center for data collection.
“We Express confidence that the adoption of the specified legal act will contribute to further strengthening of the dynamically developing Russian-Chinese counter-terrorism cooperation in the framework of a privileged strategic partnership between our two countries,” — said in comments to the Agency.
The foreign Ministry noted that Moscow and Beijing, “echoes in favour of maintaining the Central coordinating role of the UN in global anti-terrorism efforts, which must be free from politicization and preconditions for the creation of a broad anti-terrorist coalition to combat ISIL, the adoption of comprehensive measures to counter the phenomenon of foreign terrorists-militants, including in the context of reducing the risks for the Central Asian region.”
“Russia and China objectively assess not only the complicated anti-terrorism situation in the world, but also demonstrate a willingness to take joint measures for its correction”, — underline the foreign Ministry.
