MOSCOW, 4 Jan. “Naftogaz of Ukraine” is still not resumed purchases of Russian gas; studying price terms proposed by the Russian Federation, reported the press Secretary of the Ukrainian company Alena Osmolovsky.
“The purchases (of Russia — ed.) do not go. We are studying the proposal (for gas price in the first quarter — ed.),” Osmolovsky said.
In 2015 Ukraine broke antirecord, having bought from Russia only 6.1 billion cubic meters of gas. In 2014, this figure amounted to 14.5 billion. In 2015 year, Ukraine bought gas in the period January-June, and then in the period from 12 October to 24 November.
In December 2015, “Gazprom” and “Naftogaz” was in the stage of negotiations regarding the terms of gas purchases in the first quarter of 2016. On the first day of January 2016, was issued the decree of the RF government rates of export customs duties on gas delivered from the Russian territory to Ukraine in the first quarter of 2016.
The resolution stipulates that if the contract price of Russian gas for Ukraine to $ 230 per thousand cubic meters discount can be 17,77 dollar. The gas price for Ukraine in the first quarter with the discount can be 212,23 dollars per thousand cubic meters.
In December, the head of the Ukrainian Ministry of energy Vladimir Demchyshyn said that Ukraine is ready to buy gas from Russia in the first quarter of 2016 only at a price comparable to the European, and it is now less than 200 dollars per thousand cubic meters.
