The authorities of the South Ukrainian city of Genichesk turned to Russia with a request to provide supply of gas to prevent the citizens from freezing. By order of the Putin’s gas was delivered to Genichesk, the city now receives it in its entirety, reported local authorities.
KYIV, 5 Jan. The South Ukrainian city of Genichesk need 3.2 thousand cubic meters of gas per hour, 2,88 thousand cubic meters extracted on the territory of the genichesky area, the remaining volume of gas is supplied from the Crimea, said on Tuesday first Deputy head of the Henichesk regional state administration Alexey Sidenko.
Previously press Secretary of the President Dmitry Peskov reported that on behalf of the residents of Genichesk mayor of the city appealed to the Russian side with a request to provide supply of gas to prevent the people of the city to freeze. According to Peskov, the Russian President Vladimir Putin has considered this appeal and, on humanitarian grounds, instructed to study the possibility of providing similar supply. On the eve of Vice-Premier Dmitry Kozak said that Russian gas has started flowing in Genichesk.
According to Sysenko currently Genichesk gets the Glebovskoye underground gas storage in the Crimea in full.
He did not specify who negotiated and agreed on gas supplies. “Agreements of this level is not the powers of the Henichesk district administration. To help we appealed to the deputies of the Verkhovna Rada, oblast state administration, the Cabinet of Ministers. These negotiations we have not kept,” said Sidenko.
According to organizing the supply of gas to the Russian company “Chernomorneftegaz”, delivery to Genichesk will be no more than 20 thousand cubic meters per day. As have informed on Tuesday the head of the Crimea Sergey Aksenov, has already shipped about 14 thousand cubic meters of gas.
According to the Ukrainian Ministry of regional development, January 2 in Genichesk because of the cold snap dropped the pressure in the municipal pipeline, the gas pressure is not enough for Autonomous heating appliances at 1.8 thousand residents of multi-storied buildings and 400 subscribers of the private sector. On Monday evening without gas remained 1,5 thousand subscribers.
