“Turkmengaz” confirms its readiness to conduct negotiations with “Gazprom”


“Turkmengas” is ready for negotiations with OOO “Gazprom export” on a broad range of issues related to economic ties between the two economic entities, according to the electronic newspaper of oil and gas complex of Turkmenistan Nebit-Gaz.

ASHGABAT, 5 Jan. Amangeldy Of Nurmuradov. The state concern “Turkmengaz” confirms its readiness to negotiate with Gazprom on gas supplies to Russia, said on Tuesday the electronic newspaper of oil and gas complex of Turkmenistan Nebit-Gaz (Oil-Gas).

The newspaper reiterates that “Turkmengaz” is ready for negotiations with OOO “Gazprom export” on a broad range of issues related to economic ties between the two economic actors, but also stressed that Turkmenistan has guaranteed to increase their exports of “blue fuel”, as existing pipelines to China and Iran and Russia and other planned routes of gas export. In this case, refers to the gas pipeline Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India, the start of the construction of which started in December last year.

Thus, the newspaper concludes, the demand for Turkmen natural gas every year will only grow, and Turkmenistan is ready to supply to all interested countries on the principles, which will take into account mutual interest and mutual benefit.

Until the global economic crisis of 2008, Russia was the main buyer of Turkmen natural gas. Then Turkmenistan supplied Russia with about 50 billion cubic meters of natural gas per year. The crisis has reduced these volumes to 10 billion cubic meters per year, and in 2015 and up to 4 billion cubic meters of natural gas.
