This was stated during a telephone conversation the Deputy Minister of foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Igor Morgulov and U.S. special envoy for policy toward North Korea Kim Sleep.

As they say in the message of the Russian foreign Ministry, the conversation took place on 6 January at the initiative of the American side.

“Was carried out in-depth exchange of views on prospects for resolving the nuclear issue on the Korean Peninsula in light of North Korea message about the test of a hydrogen bomb. Expressed concern over the actions of Pyongyang, which is a direct violation of the relevant resolutions of the UN Security Council”, – is spoken in the message of the foreign Ministry.

The Russian side stressed there is no alternative to politico-diplomatic solution available on the Peninsula issues within the framework of six-party talks and the need to avoid steps that could lead to increased conflict potential in the region, said the foreign Ministry of the Russian Federation.

Hydrogen bomb Pyongyang

On 6 January, the DPRK government announced successfully conducted the test of the hydrogen bomb, “made on the basis of domestic technologies”.
