Russian-Japanese cooperation has broad potential in various fields, said state Duma Deputy Vladimir Pligin. He added that relations between the two countries should be developed on a bilateral basis taking into account the interests of both parties.
MOSCOW, 11 Jan. External factors should not affect relations between Russia and Japan, the cooperation between the two countries has great potential, said Monday the head of the Duma Committee on constitutional legislation and state construction Vladimir Pligin.
Deputy Chairman of the ruling liberal democratic party of Japan (LDP) Masahiko Koumura, has arrived to Russia as the honorary head of the delegation of the Association of lawyers for freedom and democracy.
“We remain confident that Russian-Japanese cooperation has broad potential in various fields. There is no doubt that it must develop on a bilateral basis with the interests of each of our countries. I am confident that bilateral cooperation should not depend on any kind of external factors”, — said Pligin at the meeting with Koumura.
Pligin added that in 2015 the Russian-Japanese relations developed rather unevenly. “In the first half of the year continued a decline triggered by external factors. However, in recent months our dialogue intensified, and at many different levels,” he said.
