Kiev agreed with Sberbank on restructuring debts of state-owned companies


In December the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine introduced a moratorium on the payment of Russian banks 507 million credits CB “South” and “Ukravtodor”. Today, however, the Finance Ministry informed that the agreement with Sberbank complies with the requirements of the program of cooperation of Ukraine with the IMF.

KYIV, 13 Jan. An agreement with Russia’s Sberbank on the debt restructuring of two large Ukrainian enterprises — “Ukravtodor” and CB “South” correspond to the requirements of the program of cooperation of Ukraine with the IMF, said on Wednesday the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine.

In December the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine introduced a moratorium on the payment of Russian banks 507 million credits CB “South” and “Ukravtodor”. On Tuesday, the head of the largest Russian Bank Herman Gref said that Sberbank agreed on settlement of debt of these enterprises.

“The Finance Ministry welcomed the agreement with Sberbank of Russia as it meets the requirements of the program of cooperation of Ukraine with the IMF “extended financing facility”. The Ministry of Finance continues to negotiate to restructure other loans guaranteed by the state within the perimeter of debt operations of Ukraine”, — stated in the message of the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine.

The Ministry confirms that the Ministry of Finance together with “Ukravtodor” and the state enterprise “Design Bureau “southern” them. M. K. Yangelya” agreed with Sberbank of Russia on the principles of restructuring loans that were guaranteed by the government.

According to the Finance Ministry, the parties agreed to work together to complete the transaction as soon as possible.
