Usackas: Russia and the EU remain important partners


According to Ambassador of EU in Russia Vygaudas Usackas, in 2015 the trade turnover between Russia and the EU was more than between Russia and the countries of the Eurasian economic Union.

MOSCOW, 13 Jan. The Ambassador of EU in Russia Vygaudas Usackas said that regardless of the sanctions and retaliatory sanctions Russia and the EU remain important partners in trade, energy and other fields.

“Regardless of sanctions and antisanktsy we still have a very close relationship. The European Union remains the largest trading partner for Russian Federation,” the Ambassador said at the session of the Gaidar forum on Wednesday.

He added that in 2015 the trade turnover between Russia and the EU was more than between Russia and the countries of the Eurasian economic Union, and supported by partnerships in the energy sector, and also noted the active exchange between students and scientists.
