Usackas: the EU and Russia should find a common solution of the Ukrainian question

It is necessary above all to remove the differences between Moscow and EU countries, as well as to create conditions of mutual trust, believes the permanent representative of EU in Moscow Vygaudas Usackas.

MOSCOW, 13 Jan. Russia and the EU should find a common solution of the Ukrainian issue, to resolve disagreements, said Wednesday at the Gaidar forum, the EU Ambassador in Moscow Vygaudas Usackas.

The European Union and other Western countries imposed sanctions against Russia because of Ukrainian conflict, the possibility of cancellation was linked to the fulfillment of the Minsk agreements on the settlement of the conflict in the Donbass.

“To come to a common vision and create mutual trust, we need to find a common answer on the question of Ukraine. This is our common neighbour, we have the Minsk agreements, full implementation of which will help us to begin to normalize relations between the EU and Russia,” Usackas said at a session of the forum on economic perspectives of Russia and Europe.
