The position of the bill introducing a ban on business activities for spouses and adult children of persons holding public office, contrary to the articles of the Constitution, said a member of the Federation Council Andrey Klishas.
MOSCOW, 14 Jan. The Federation Council Committee on constitutional legislation will not support introduced in the state Duma LDPR deputies a bill to ban the relatives of the officials to do business, said the Chairman of Committee Andrey Klishas.
“The Committee will not support a bill to impose additional restrictions associated with the personal interest of the persons occupying state posts of the Russian Federation”, — said the Senator.
Deputies of LDPR in the Duma introduced a bill prohibiting spouses and adult children of high-ranking officials to engage in entrepreneurial activities. A similar initiative was made by MP from the Communist party Vadim Solovyov, the bill also did not find support in the constitutional Committee of the Federation Council.
“The position of the bill introducing a ban on entrepreneurial activities and participate in the management of the economic entity for spouses and adult children of persons holding state positions of the Russian Federation, contrary to articles 34 and 37 of the Constitution, according to which everyone has the right to freely use their abilities for entrepreneurial activity and free use of his abilities to labour,” Klishas.
Moreover, he said, the bill introduces a ban is not against persons holding state positions of the Russian Federation, and in relation to their adult children who cannot be limited in rights only on the grounds that their parents replace these positions.
“The relationship between parents and adult children have a strong legal connection and cannot be terminated at their will, while these persons legally do not depend on each other”, — said Klishas.
