The Minister of economy of the Latin American countries Ildefonso, Guajardo stressed that the export potential will be carried out not necessarily at the expense of raw materials from the United States.
MEXICO city, 15 Jan –. Mexico is studying the possibility of natural gas supplies to Cuba, said the Minister of economy of the Latin American countries Ildefonso, Guajardo.
“What is now being discussed is the possibility of Pemex (state oil company) to guarantee the supply of gas for the needs that will be in Cuba in the process of restructuring industry,” said Guajardo.
According to him, this issue, the parties began to discuss during the visit to Mexico of the head of the state Council of Cuba Raul Castro in November of last year. We are talking about the supply of compressed (liquefied) gas.
Experts notice that now in Mexico there has been a shortage of domestic natural gas, therefore the country imports it from the USA. Guajardo stressed that the possible deliveries to Cuba will be delivered not necessarily by natural gas from the United States.
