“For the first time Russia speaks at a session of the Assembly of the renewable energy Agency, which she joined six months ago as a permanent member. Joining this organization was a deliberate step from Russia – we place a great emphasis on renewable energy, despite the availability of traditional fossil energy resources, and believe that the future for these technologies,” said Teksler.
He recalled that in Russia last year was built a large plant to manufacture solar panels in the amount of 200 megawatts per year, and for the first time put into operation seven new big solar plants with a total capacity of 56 megawatts.
According to Teksler, by 2024, Russia plans to enter the wholesale market of about six gigawatts of renewable energy using solar, wind and small hydropower plants with the mandatory requirement of localization of production of up to 70-75%, in the retail market will be of the order of 2-3 gigawatts, and built seven stations are part of this project.
“Today, our engineers and scientists are improving the technology in the first place, on solar energy. Next year will be carried out appropriate technological modernization of our enterprises. He stressed that the development of renewable energy is particularly important in remote regions of the Russian Federation on the basis of traditional actively introducing hybrid plants, e.g., wind / diesel and synecdochically.
