The Russian delegation will not attend January session of the PACE, what has officially informed the Chairman of the state Duma Sergey Naryshkin.
MOSCOW, 18 Jan. The Chairman of the state Duma Sergey Naryshkin informed the Council of the Duma, the delegation of the Russian Federation is not going to PACE January session, said Vice-speaker of the state Duma Igor Lebedev.
“Not going in January for sure,” he told journalists, answering the question, did Naryshkin, the Council of the Duma decision of Moscow.
Naryshkin himself explained that “in recent months we very carefully analyzed the situation that is happening on the court (PACE), discussions, delegations, individual parliamentarians”. “We deeply disagree with the decisions that were taken previously and in accordance with the Russian parliamentary delegation was denied a number of significant powers that prevent us to implement their parliamentary functions,” he added.
According to him, Russian parliamentarians are convinced that these decisions were taken “on the basis of superficial or just prejudice against the causes and events of the internal Ukrainian crisis”.
This Naryshkin noted that the situation on the ground is changing PACE, there are more supporters of open and fair parliamentary dialogue, which is the main instrument for development cooperation.
