MOSCOW, January 19. PJSC “Gazprom” sent “Naftogaz of Ukraine” account to pay for gas at $2,549 billion, not selected Ukrainian company in the third quarter of 2015 to the condition of “take or pay”.
Gazprom expects payment of the invoice within 10 days, the report said “Gazprom”.

Under current between “Gazprom” and “Naftogaz of Ukraine” contract of sale of gas the buyer is obliged to pay the minimum annual quantity of gas. Based on the terms of the contract, such amount in the third quarter of 2015 amounted to 10,485 billion cubic meters.
“Ukraine in 2015 actually stopped purchasing Russian gas in the third quarter, thus, no agreement on non-use of rules “take or pay” in this period”, – said the head of “Gazprom” Alexey Miller.
In 2015, the condition “take or pay” was not applied to the NJSC “Naftogaz of Ukraine” in I, II and IV blocks.

On 10 January Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk said that Ukraine continues to import gas from countries of the European Union, as it cost Ukraine cheaper Russian. “January 1, they (Russia) are billed with the price of gas is $212 per thousand cubic meters. We do not buy gas in Russia, because we purchase gas in the European Union cheaper than we were offered by Russia. The average cost of purchasing gas in the EU – about $200,” he said.
According to Yatseniuk, in underground gas storages of Ukraine is about 13 billion cubic meters of gas, 2.3 billion cubic meters more than the previous year.
Discount on Russian gas for Ukraine
January 1, the Russian government has approved a discount for Ukraine on gas supplies from Russia in the first quarter of 2016. On the basis of the contract price in $230 for 1 thousand cubic meters discount can be as high as $17,77.
Earlier, the Chairman of the Board “Gazprom” Valery Golubev told reporters that the gas price for Ukraine in the first quarter of 2016 will be $230 per thousand cubic meters without the discount.
