The Supreme court of Russia in the Duma introduced a bill on decriminalization of several articles of the Criminal code, aimed at “humanization and liberalization of criminal legislation”. It is anticipated that the project will be considered in February 2016.
MOSCOW, 19 Jan. The state Duma plans to consider in the spring session of the Supreme court draft law on decriminalization of several articles of the Criminal code of the Russian Federation, said Tuesday the first Deputy speaker of the lower house of Parliament, Alexander Zhukov.
Earlier, the Supreme court of the Russian Federation submitted to the Duma a draft law on decriminalization of several articles of the Criminal code. In particular, it is proposed to introduce administrative liability for assault, threat of murder or infliction of grievous bodily harm, malicious evasion from payment of means for the maintenance of children or disabled parents, use of falsified document.
“I note the bill of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation, aimed at further humanization and liberalization of criminal legislation”, — said Zhukov, speaking at the first meeting of the spring session of the approximate program of legislative work.
In the table of programmes indicate that the planned timing for the review is set for February of this year. Also the state Duma plans to consider a bill apply in arbitration courts and courts of General jurisdiction of videoconferencing systems.
“This problem has arisen in connection with introduction in action of the law on the settlement of the peculiarities of insolvency (bankruptcy) in the territory of the Republic of Crimea and the Federal city of Sevastopol”, — said the Deputy.
