According to the Minister of Finance Anton Siluanov, at present various options are being discussed, but the decision is still pending.
MOSCOW, 19 Jan. The government of Russia to decide on new measures to support the mortgage until the end of February of the current year, has informed journalists the Minister of Finance Anton Siluanov.
The authorities of the Russian Federation in accordance with the law on preferential mortgage planning in 2015 to allocate 20 billion rubles to Russian banks for subsidized mortgage loans for the purchase of a primary residence, so they were not above 12% per annum. It was assumed that this will allow banks to issue mortgage loans on 400 billion rubles. Later the government expanded the program to 700 billion in terms of loans. The program is valid from 1 March 2015 to 1 April of the current year.
“The program of support of mortgage, adopted last year, ending in February. The government will decide on measures to support mortgage by this time,” said Siluanov. He noted that currently various options are being discussed, the decision is still pending.
According to him, in 2015 the programme was granted 211 thousand mortgage loans for more than 370 billion rubles. “It has allowed Russian citizens to purchase 10 million square metres of housing. The budget 2015 has allocated to subsidize mortgages of 2.1 billion rubles. This year the amount of funds to subsidize interest rates on already issued loans estimated at 16 billion rubles”, — the Minister added.
Earlier Tuesday, Deputy Finance Minister of Russia Alexey Moiseev said that the government of the Russian Federation, most likely, would not renew the subsidies discounted rates on mortgages, but may consider other measures of support.
