Medvedev signed a decree on supporting the automotive industry of the Russian Federation for 2016


The Russian car industry in the current year will receive about 50 billion rubles. This volume of financing comparable to the volume of support for the sector last year.

TOGLIATTI (Samara oblast), 22 Jan. Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev signed a government decree on support of the Russian automobile industry for 2016 in the amount of about 50 billion rubles.

“I also want to announce that I have just signed a government decree about the program of support of car industry in 2016 the Industry will receive in the current year, the largest amount of subsidies from all civil sectors. Its aim, of this program, to lay the groundwork for renewed growth of production of Russian cars. It is anticipated that total funding will be about 50 billion rubles,” — said Medvedev, speaking Friday at a meeting on the current status of the automotive industry of the Russian Federation and main directions of its development strategy for the period up to 2025.

The Prime Minister noted that the volume of financing comparable to the volume of support for the sector last year.

“We will keep the main measures applied in 2015. Chief among them — the program of updating vehicle fleet. In addition, will continue the program of preferential car loans and leases, interest rate subsidies on investment loans our companies, facilitating the regions in the purchase of municipal equipment to gas fuel and purchase of trolleybuses, trams. Will continue large-scale support for production of cars of high ecological class and save jobs,” added the Prime Minister.
