MOSCOW, 22 Jan. The Federation Council Committee on constitutional legislation will support the Ministry of justice developed a draft law, clarifying the notion of “political activity” in the law about NCOs performing functions of “foreign agent”, said the Chairman of Committee Andrey Klishas.
Earlier Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered the Kremlin administration to address the issue of clarifying the concept of political activity of NGOs in Russia. Such a task is given following the meeting of the HRC in October 2015. During the meeting with Council members the President announced the need for three months to prepare amendments to the law on NGOs. The bill, developed by Ministry of justice, published on the Federal portal of projects of normative legal acts.
“The Federation Council Committee on constitutional legislation and state construction will support this bill, because the competent Ministry of justice proposed wording aimed at addressing gaps in this very sensitive sphere,” said the Senator.
According to Klishas, clarification of the term “political activity” and legal certainty in this matter, “certainly, serve the interests of both the political system and civil society.”
“The Federation Council and our Committee in particular is closely and continuously interacted with the Ministry of justice in terms of legal regulation of activities of non-profit organizations. I note that the Department of justice is efficient and accurate work in this direction”, — said the Senator.
