Kiev said that Gazprom continues to violate antitrust laws


The Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine has already fined “Gazprom” on 85,86 billion UAH for abuse of monopoly position in the gas transit market.

KYIV, 26 Jan. The Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine declared that “Gazprom” continues to violate the antitrust laws, and ordered the Russian gas holding for two months to stop violations.

Previously, the AMCU fined “Gazprom” on 85,86 billion hryvnia (about 3.4 billion dollars) for abuse of dominant position on the market of transit of gas. Gazprom in turn expressed surprise about the exposed fine because carries on entrepreneurial activity on the territory of Ukraine, passing the NJSC “Naftogaz of Ukraine” gas on the Western border of the Russian Federation.

“The violation consisted in the omission of OAO Gazprom as a buyer (services for the transportation of gas — ed.)… while establishing the final amount of the fine included that “Gazprom” has not cooperated with the Committee, the violation was continuing in time and not stopped”, — stated in the message of the AMCU on Tuesday.

“In addition, the decision of the Committee, OAO Gazprom is obliged within two months from the date of receipt of the decision to cease the violations”, — notes the Agency.
