The average price of a barrel in January, now is 26,26 USD.
In 2015 the average price oil “baskets” the OPEC has made 49,49 USD per barrel, in 2014 — 96,29 dollars, in 2013 — 105,87 dollars per barrel. The cost of the “basket” dropped below $ 100 in September 2014 and totalled 95,98 dollars per barrel.
In 2012, the average price of a “basket” was 109,45 dollars per barrel, in 2011 — 107,46 dollar, in 2010 — 77,45 dollar. The record price of basket was set July 3, 2008 — 140,73 dollars per barrel.
The price “baskets” the OPEC is defined as the average of the prices of the following grades of oil extracted by the countries of cartel: Saharan Blend (Algeria), Girassol (Angola), Oriente (Ecuador), Iran Heavy (Iran), Basra Light (Iraq), Kuwait Export (Kuwait), Es Sider (Libya), Bonny Light (Nigeria), Qatar Marine (Qatar), Arab Light (Saudi Arabia), Murban (UAE) and Merey (Venezuela).
