MOSCOW, January 28. The President’s press Secretary Dmitry Peskov believes that it is premature to draw conclusions about possible reduction of oil production in Russia, as well as coordination of its exports to the OPEC countries. He reported about it on Thursday to journalists.
“This topic is now actively listed. In applied terms, while talking specifically about. But the topic of instability in the oil markets is being actively discussed. What would be the outcome of these active discussions premature at the moment”, – he told, answering the request of journalists to comment on the statement of the Ministry of energy that deals with the coordination of oil exports from OPEC in the oil market, as well as the statement of the head of “Transneft” about the possibility that reducing the level of production in the country.
Peskov stressed that “this theme, the theme of instability in the oil markets, of course, is of interest both for us and for our partners among oil-producing countries”.
Press Secretary of the Russian President failed to answer the question: will Russia participate in negotiations OPEC in February. “I am not ready to answer this question”, – he said.
Peskov also declined to speculate about how Russia, as the country receives from oil sales a significant part of their income, afford to cut production. “Here you want me to say some hypothetical reasoning. I don’t think it’s my prerogative,” concluded the President’s press Secretary.
