MOSCOW, 1 February. The President of the RF Vladimir Putin reported on the request of the President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan to meet with him.

“Putin was informed about the desire of the President (Recep Tayyip) Erdogan,” – said the press-Secretary of Russian leader Dmitry Peskov.

Answering the question about the reaction to the proposal of the Turkish leader, a Kremlin spokesman said that he had nothing more to say.

In the Kremlin, it is assumed that the Russian aircraft did not violate the border of Turkish airspace.

“We proceed from the information that has been reported to our Ministry of defence. I recall that the representatives of the Ministry of defence denied the allegations of the Turkish side that there was a violation of one of our aircraft air space of Turkey”, – told reporters the President’s press Secretary Dmitry Peskov. “We proceed from this,” he repeated.

Erdogan on 30 January told journalists before flying to their Latin American tour, he wants to meet with Putin in connection with the alleged violation of Turkish airspace by Russian military aircraft.

Erdogan added that after this incident asked the Turkish foreign office to request a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin. “I was told to talk with the Russian side and said that I want to personally meet with Mr. Putin. Our Ambassador (in Moscow) informed that request has been notified (the Kremlin), but from there up to the present time has not yet arrived,” – said the Turkish President.

Earlier in the day the Turkish foreign Ministry claimed that military aircraft from Russia had violated Turkish airspace. “Yesterday (29 January 2016) owned by VKS the Russian one su-34 had violated Turkish airspace. Before the violation of the Turkish radar station repeatedly in Russian and English warned of Russian aircraft”, – said the Turkish foreign Ministry. The office also noted that on January 29 evening “the Russian Ambassador was invited to the Ministry, and he was raised hard protest and condemnation” in connection with the incident.
