The Minister of oil of Venezuela, after consultations with Iranian counterpart in Tehran announced the convening of an emergency session of OPEC members and States not members of the organization.
MOSCOW, 4 Feb. Venezuelan Minister of petroleum and mining, Eulogio del Pino said that six countries-oil producers agreed to convene a joint emergency meeting of OPEC members and States not members of the organization, according to the Shana Agency.
Such statements Venezuelan Minister made after consultation with the Iranian oil Minister, Bijan Zanganeh in Tehran.
“Iran agreed to participate in the meeting, and Russia has already declared its consent. Iran is the first country in OPEC, which I visited for negotiations. Before I visited Russia, which is not a member of OPEC,” said del Pino.
The Venezuelan Minister noted that the aim of his negotiations with the producing countries is to restore stability in the global oil market.
He welcomed the lifting of sanctions against Iran and expressed hope that in the era after sanctions Tehran and Caracas will continue cooperation.
