MOSCOW, 6 February. Deputies of the state Duma from “United Russia” could refuse compensation on a salary in connection with the early termination of his powers due to the postponement of the elections, said Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev at the XV Congress of the party “United Russia”.

He noted that the state in difficult economic conditions should reduce unjustified costs, adding that “savings should begin primarily with the state itself”. So, by 10% reduced the state apparatus, “of course, without compromising quality of work,” he said. Last year the salaries of civil servants were reduced by 10 percent, the costs of the bureaucracy this year will be reduced by 10%, he added.
“But we have to think about that yet. I believe that our colleagues and comrades, the deputies of the State Duma from “United Russia” must not stand aside. And could refuse compensation on a salary in connection with the early termination of his powers due to the postponement of the elections”, – said Medvedev.
He noted that some deputies wanted to consolidate this initiative into law. “But it’s not the normative solution. But nobody forbids members of the State Duma to take such a decision independently,” he concluded.
