On Tuesday “Gazprom” has signed with leading Russian pipe companies TMK, OMK, CHTPZ, “Izhora pipe mill” – agreement on formula-based pricing for large-diameter pipes for the period 2016-2018, This agreement is a Supplement to the agreement on the application of the price formula for LDP, existing between the gas monopoly and the recorded 2012, in which to determine price formula companies used the index method.

Due to the unstable economic situation in 2015, pipe companies and Gazprom switched to “manual mode” the determination of the price. In 2015 year on the background of significant changes in economic conditions pipe manufacturers together with “Gazprom” worked on improving the formula and mechanism for the calculation of the market price level at intervals of 1 time per quarter.

The result of these efforts was the signing of the document on February 9, formula-based pricing on large diameter pipe.

The new version of the formula allows to generate fair prices along the whole chain of costs taking into account market conditions that more realistically reflect the cost structure of pipe manufacturers. For manufacturers this would mean the possibility of more accurately plan its production and economic activity. Thus, the signed agreement will allow to create a stable framework of producer responsibility across the value chain.
