MOSCOW, 11 February. Russia is ready to discuss at the meeting in Munich the possibility of a ceasefire in Syria.
This was stated to journalists by the Deputy Russian foreign Minister Gennady Gatilov.

“We are ready to discuss the modalities of the ceasefire, he said. – This will be discussed in Munich”.
He also indicated that the Syrian government is ready for the resumption of negotiations in Geneva, adding that it depends on the opposition “the Riyadh group”. “Who is responsible for the failure of the first round of negotiations? Answering the question, how real it seemed to him the resumption of inter-Syrian negotiations on 25 February (as stated by the UN special envoy on Syria Staffan de Mistura), Gatilov noted that such date is appointed, then it is reasonable. “And you used to be,” he added.
Munich talks
On Thursday at the Munich meeting of the International support group in Syria. Earlier, Russian foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that Russia has made concrete proposals for a ceasefire in the country.
Meeting of the International support group Syria (MGPS) at the level of foreign Ministers in “Vienna format” will take place in Munich on the eve of the security conference, which is held in the Bavarian capital for over half a century. The result of the previous meeting MGPS in Vienna on 14 November last year was a plan for a political settlement in Syria, which was later enshrined in UN security Council resolution 2254. He, in particular, envisages a ceasefire, the beginning of the political process, the establishment of a transitional government, drafting a new Constitution and holding elections.

This “road map” for a year and a half, assumed that not later than January 2016 will be launched a direct political dialogue between the government and the opposition Syria. Opposition members themselves with such opinion do not agree: the main coordinator of the CPSU, the former Prime Minister of Syria Riyad Hijab and even promised that the delegation would not return to Switzerland until there is no progress in resolving humanitarian issues in the ceasefire.
