MOSCOW, 11 February. In Yakutia have found a diamond weighing carats 121,96. It was recovered from a kimberlite from the jubilee pipe Aikhal mining and processing complex (GOK) in the Mirny district, reported the press service of ALROSA.

Diamond shaped octahedron was a gem quality, clear and yellow, with small inclusions of olivine and graphite-sulphides in the peripheral zone. The size of the crystal 31,28 x x 30,00 28,57 mm, according to a press release from the company.
“The cost can be measured in the neighborhood of $1.5 million,” – said the expert of branch analytical Agency Rough and Polished Sergey Goryainov.
In 2015 at the jubilee pipe was found a few crystals weighing from 50 to 138 carats. Among them is the diamond carat weight 76,07, which has the name of “70 years of Victory in the great Patriotic war”.
