Aeroexpress has reduced transportation by 22% for Turkey and Egypt


Passenger traffic “Aeroexpress” by the end of 2015 fell by almost 22% and amounted to 13 million vs. 16.6 million in 2014. This is stated in the message on the website of Aeroexpress.

“Among a number of factors influenced the decline in the number of passengers of the company, it is worth noting the growth in transit passengers at Moscow airports, the suspension of air links with Egypt, the cancellation of flights to Turkey and the improvement of the traffic situation in the city”, — stated in the message.

The most popular among the passengers were Domodedovskaya direction. The Aeroexpress services here over the past year have used 5.8 million, against 7.6 million in 2014. At Sheremetyevo direction of the train Aeroexpress transported 4.4 million people, which is 31% lower than 2014. On the Vnukovo route passenger traffic grew by 8% compared to the 2014 year and amounted to 2.8 million people.

The share of “Aeroexpress” on the intermodal transportation market of Moscow aviation hub was 17% compared to the equity stake of 21.65% in 2014, said the carrier.

The company’s revenue in 2015 amounted to almost 6.1 billion rubles, down by 6.1% compared with the previous year. Net income of the carrier by the end of 2015 amounted to almost 1.5 billion rubles from 1.6 billion rubles in 2014. EBITDA last year rose by 3.8% and amounted to 2.7 billion rubles, net assets grew by 10%, from RUB 2.8 billion to 3.1 billion rubles.

In early February, “Aeroexpress”, reported that the number of employees in 2015 was reduced by more than a quarter — 27%. It was stated that the change in the average number due to the discontinuation of the “Aeroexpress” in Sochi, Vladivostok and Kazan, which, in turn, was caused by the loss of the carrier.
