ABU DHABI, 16 February. Iraq was willing to freeze oil production at the level of January of this year. About this channel “Al-sumaria” said an informed source in the Iraqi Ministry of oil.

According to him, “Iraq is ready to adhere to the level of oil production at the level of January of this year, if member countries of OPEC and major producers of this raw material, were not included in that cartel, reach an agreement on this issue”. A source in the Ministry of petroleum added that Baghdad “supports any solution which will help maintain prices in the oil market”.
Earlier, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Venezuela expressed readiness to save, on average, in 2016 oil production at the level of January 2016, if other countries-oil producers will join this initiative. This was stated by Minister of energy Alexander Novak after meeting with the oil Ministers of these States in Qatar.
