MOSCOW, February 26. The head of the Russian presidential administration Sergei Ivanov said that the Investigative Committee, law-enforcement agencies and intelligence agencies responsible for overlapping of channels of financing of extremists and terrorists, the prohibition of the recruitment of Russians and the detection of attempts to destabilize the situation in Russia, including during the electoral campaign to the state Duma.
“I would like to highlight the responsibility of the Investigative Committee, all law-enforcement structures and special services for the protection of society from terrorism and extremism. You need to securely block the channels of financing of extremists and terrorists, to prevent cases of recruitment of our citizens, to thwart any attempts to destabilize the situation inside the country, including during the upcoming election campaign to the State Duma,” – said Ivanov at the expanded session of Board SK of the Russian Federation.

Ivanov also said that he expects to increase the efficiency of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation in the areas outlined in Vladimir Putin, including in his address to the Federal Assembly.
“Your Agency, formed five years ago, plays an important role in the law enforcement system of the country. You react to the challenges of criminal threats, implement the principle of inevitability of punishment for the committed crime. Investigators ‘ work is always under the scrutiny of society. He added that last year 11% reduction in the number of suspended criminal cases for additional investigation by prosecutors was returned 4% less 6% less cases in which the courts have added to the revision.

On combating corruption offences
One of the key areas of work of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation should be to ensure the inevitability of responsibility of property of corrupt officials, Sergey Ivanov said.

The number of criminal cases brought about the obtaining and giving of bribes, mediation in 2015 amounted to almost 12.5 thousand, which is 8% more than in the previous year. He recalled that at the meeting of the presidential Council for combating corruption was set the task of applying additional measures to ensure the inevitability of responsibility of property of corrupt officials. “This task is already directly set by the President of the Russian Federation”, – said Ivanov.
