Lavrov: the reaction to the DPRK’s actions should be firm, but given the humanitarian situation

MOSCOW, February 27. The Russian foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in conversation with U.S. Secretary of state John Kerry has indicated that the response to North Korea must be firm, but should take account of the humanitarian situation in the country. This was reported in the Russian depodesta.

“Considered in detail the situation with the preparation of a new UN security Council resolution in response to missile and nuclear activity by Pyongyang in contravention of the decisions of the UN Security Council, – said the foreign Ministry. – Lavrov pointed out that the international community’s response must be firm and focused on the overlap of the channels feeding missile and nuclear programs in the DPRK, while also taking into account the already dire humanitarian situation in the country and not to the detriment of the legitimate relations with her foreign partners in the civilian sectors of the economy.”
