The head of the Russian Agency on the eve of the forum, said in an interview to the newspaper “iomiuri” that through the visit to Japan, he wants to “restore a dialogue between the business communities of the two countries”. “Sanctions are harmful for both parties. Even if you change the setting, you can’t stop the dialogue on trade and economic cooperation. Even under sanctions, Russia’s relations with Japan are developing,” he said.
Speaking about his expectations from the visit, the Minister noted that Russia hopes for technology transfer and local production. “We offer a comfortable environment for business that is involved in long-term projects. We want to promote cooperation not only in the field of export of raw materials and energy, but also in the field of high technologies, and others,” he concluded. However, in an interview with the newspaper “mainiti” Manturov called Japan consistently a priority partner for Russia.
In turn, Deputy Secretary General of the Cabinet of Ministers of Japan Hiroshige SECO February 11, said that his government attached great importance to the upcoming forum. Last week in the Japanese capital meetings were also held between the Russian and Japanese parliamentarians, the Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on international Affairs Andrei Klimau was assessed as more successful than expected.
