GENEVA, 1 March. Russia is satisfied with the work in military group on truce in Syria. This was stated on Tuesday, the Russian foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
“We are pleased with the work the military, together with colleagues from the UN satisfied with what is happening on the humanitarian front, there is progress in terms of unlocking human settlements, delivery of goods, food to needy people,” he said.
The inter-Syrian negotiations will be convened in early March
Sergey Lavrov also said that the special envoy of the UN Secretary General on Syria Staffan de Mistura confirmed that the inter-Syrian negotiations will be convened in early March.
“Satisfied that everything seems to be support the beginning of these negotiations – because in January as there are no negotiations – the beginning of a genuine negotiation process to involve all Syrians, especially at the stage where will be decided the fate of the country to discuss constitutional reform, the Minister said. – Staffan de Mistura confirmed that these negotiations it will convene in early March”.

Sergey Lavrov also said that Russia, the U.S. and the UN positively evaluate the progress of ceasefire in Syria. “We continued to negotiate (at a meeting with de Mistura) specific steps that the Group support Syria taken, including on the basis located in Geneva of the UN centre, the Minister said. – Our General view, which coincides with the opinion of the United States that we are moving in the right direction.”
“The cessation of hostilities is set, it becomes more stable,” he said.
“There are some violations, but neither our UN colleagues, other partners are not inclined to dramatize them, he said. – There are no separate cease-fires without incident.”

In addition, the head of the Russian foreign Ministry noted that Moscow and Washington agree on the technical aspects of verification of violations of the ceasefire.
“With regard to procedures for identifying incidents, violations of the cessation of hostilities, it is spelled out in the agreements the Group’s support of Syria, in the arrangements approved by the presidents of Russia and the USA and later became part of UN security Council resolution, the Minister said. “Specific technical aspects of the process (verification of ceasefire violations) are agreed now, in the framework of the rules of procedure, which will apply in respect of this aspect of the Group supporting Syria and its co – chairs,” he said
On humanitarian assistance
Sergey Lavrov also noted that Russia is satisfied with the progress on the humanitarian front in Syria. “We are satisfied that on the humanitarian front (in Syria) there is progress in terms of unlocking additional settlements, delivery of goods, food to needy people,” he said.
