The number of foreign investors who see the deterioration of the business climate in Russia, fell slightly by the end of 2015 — from 82 to 77%, found the Russian Union of Industrialists and entrepreneurs (RSPP). However, the rate has declined not because of increased optimistic: there are those who have not noticed any changes (17% versus zero in 2014). Those who noted improvement of the business environment, with only 6% (vs. 18% a year earlier).
RSPP, together with the Agency FleishmanHillard Vanguard interviewed foreign investors, working in seven regions of Russia, but mainly in the Central, Volga and Urals regions.
The results of the survey of the RUIE is not surprising: according to the Center for market research HSE, in the fourth quarter of 2015 index of economic sentiment in the Russian economy dropped to the lowest level in the last six years — 83.7 item at a neutral level of 100.
The main problem that hinder entrepreneurship, the respondents FleishmanHillard Vanguard foreigners call the rise in prices two years in a row talking about this 55% of respondents. In 2014 the main problem was political uncertainty (82%), but is now concerned only 29% of investors.
49% of respondents complained about the lack of skilled personnel, 41% of high administrative barriers. In addition, investors are struggling with the infrastructure necessary for business to be of a survey.
Finally, among the challenges the business owners cited access to credit (35%) and corruption in government (34%). The majority of investors — 88 percent — believe that the most effective tool of interaction of business and government are personal contacts with authorities and local self-government.
According to the Centre for development Economics, among the factors limiting the business development in all sectors of the economy in the fourth quarter of 2015 was dominated by lack of demand for products or services. “The negative effect on business activity stated about half of the respondents from all surveyed industries,” according to a review of the Institute.
For the Russian business remains a topical issue and the uncertain economic environment. So, in the February review of industry Economics economists wrote that uncertainty is one of the causes of the deteriorating business forecasts for the near future.
