The investigating authorities reclassified the criminal case against the artist Peter Pavlenkova. About it Interfax was told by his lawyer Dmitry dinze.
According to him, about the diversion on article 243 of the criminal code (destruction of cultural heritage) with article 214 of the criminal code (vandalism) Pavlensky said via video link at the hearing. The artist noted that reclassification occurred recently.
Unlike article 214 of the criminal code, article 243 of the criminal code, the defendant may receive a longer term of imprisonment — up to six years. The maximum punishment under article “Vandalism” stipulates three years of imprisonment.
