Former CIA employee Valerie Plame was called a fake letter shown in the plot of TV channel “Russia 1”, in which the founder of the Fund of struggle against corruption Alexei Navalny has called a paid agent of the founder of Hermitage Capital of William Browder. About this Plame told the TV channel “Rain”.
“I think the letter is fake,” said Plame. She added that she never heard the names of Alexei Navalny and William Browder, which were mentioned in the movie “Russia 1”.
The footage of the TV channel “Russia 1” showed in the program “Vesti Nedeli” on the evening of 11 April. Fully the TV channel plans to show it on April 13.
In the displayed fragment described Navalny as a paid agent Browder. In the film it is alleged that in 2007, agent Solomon, which, according to the channel, is associated with the British secret service in Browder, started cooperation with Navalny. The latter received the nickname of freedom in the framework of “operation Shiver” to undermine the constitutional order in Russia. This operation was allegedly developed by the CIA in 1986.
The film also was shown a letter signed by the alleged CIA agent Valerie Plame and dated 20 September 2009. According to the channel, Plame wrote a report to the CIA Director about the health of Sergei Magnitsky, according to agent Solomon.
Plame in a conversation with the “Rain” also stated that he resigned from the CIA until 2009.
Bulk, commenting on the announcement of the film, wrote on his website that he was going to file a lawsuit on protection of honor, dignity and business reputation to the TV channel “Russia 1” Dmitry Kiselev, the transfer of which was shown the announcement, as well as to the authors of the investigation. The opposition leader also promised that he would make a criminal case under article “slander” (article 128.1 of the criminal code). Kiselev, in turn, said that the TV channel “Russia 1” will show the film despite the claim of the opposition.
