“Today we can say that the campaign will be highly competitive. Without collection of signatures will be involved 14 parties, in 2011, according to the results of collection of signatures was attended by only seven. The competition is in two times higher”, — he said during the media forum “Truth and justice” in St. Petersburg.

Volodin has reminded that in Russia 77 registered parties, of which 75 have the right to participate in election campaigns.

“Therefore, in different regions the number of parties, on the basis that it is necessary to obtain qualification requirements for participation at the regional level, it is clear that competition will be different and the architecture of participants will be different. But it is clear that at least five parties will not, based on what we saw in previous elections,” he said.

The election coverage in the media

Speaking about the work of the media on elections, Volodin urged to wait for clarification of the CEC.

“No need to think through the new law on elections for journalists… the Explanation of the CEC will remove many issues,” he said.

Volodin said that “if the media is interested in his journalist coverage of the campaign, we will take into account the nuances of the law”.

According to the March regulatory act, journalists can not move freely between polling stations, to work in elections is mandatory accreditation.
